About Malta

Malta, at the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, situated between Europe and Africa, has attracted settlers since time immemorial, from all over the globe. Its strategic position, coupled with its natural beauty, excellent climate and welcoming inhabitants have always made Malta an island to fight for in the past. In fact the Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, The Knights of St. John, the French and the British were all colonisers of this beautiful archipelago, until Malta gained independence in 1964.

As a result, nowadays Malta is a hotchpotch of different influences translating it in a strong cultural heritage and in addition, the multilingual ability of the Maltese people, together with other factors such as the climate, scenic countryside, beautiful beaches and vibrant summer lifestyle have made Malta a tourist hotspot for travellers of any age and lifestyle. The climate is so mild and pleasant that in January 2007, International Living chose Malta as the country with the best climate in the world.

Yet, Malta has other opportunities to the foreigner rather than acting solely as a 'holiday destination'. Malta's tax regime is quite favourable to foreigners, and the purchase of property in Malta is widely accepted as a very profitable and sound means of investment whilst at the same time providing an excellent excuse to enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Malta has been the home of various civilizations over the time, all relishing the beauty the Islands have to offer. What are you waiting for to make it your home?
